| File | What it holds | Source |
|---|---|---|
| big-tech-capex.csv | Quarterly purchases of property and equipment of Microsoft, Alphabet, Amazon, Meta and Oracle, with the filing, accession number and XBRL tag for each figure | SEC filings |
| btos-ai-national.json | Share of US businesses using AI, and expecting to, by two-week survey period, as published by the Census Bureau | US Census Bureau, Business Trends and Outlook Survey, AI use |
The big tech capex file is rebuilt from the SEC's company facts by fetch_capex.py; the tracker page and every sum on it are computed from that file.
TODO for Robb: add each source's license and redistribution rule (open, or cite-only), and the AI at Work Dataset once it is published.
We plan to offer the data through an MCP server, so AI tools can query it directly.
TODO for Robb: the MCP server isn't built; remove this section or link it when it is.
